All regulated DOT drug tests screen for the same drugs: 6-Acetylmorphine, THC, Cocaine, Opiates, Phencyclidine, Oxycodone, MDA/MDMA, and amphetamines.
Recent approved specimen samples for DOT testing has been updated to include both urine and oral fluid. Aside from pre-employment and bi-annual checkups, testing is also required during or after certain events like post-accidents, randoms, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-ups.

What is DOT?
The Department of Transportation was established in 1966 and is a federal cabinet department of the United States. The DOT oversees numerous agencies that regulate transportation networks throughout the U.S. such as FAA, FRA, FTA, USCG, FMCSA, and others. For the safety of the public, companies falling under the authority of one of the five DOT agencies listed and have employees in safety-sensitive job positions are required to follow regulated workplace drug and alcohol testing practices. These regulations were designed to prevent dangerous negligence and protect public safety.
